Texas-based AI startup Hypergiant Industries has officially launched a software platform that supports autonomous satellite operations for commercial and government entities.
The Hyper-Intelligent Vehicle Enhancement (H.I.V.E.) fleet operations platform aims to reduce costs for operators who currently have significant capital investments in mission management operations. Hypergiant worked with Dynetics, which was recently acquired by Leidos, to develop the H.I.V.E. capability.
The H.I.V.E. software features both a UI and AI layer that aids in disaster response through predictive tasking of orbital assets, utilizing data sources from U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) databases, RSS streams, and Twitter feeds.
"This software is built to reduce the cost of operations, support nominal and safe manned and unmanned spaceflight operations, and decrease training time while increasing productivity for the satellite operators of tomorrow," Hypergiant CEO Ben Lamm said in a statement. "Advances in AI/ML and UI/UX can and should be applied to flight-proven ground control platforms and we know this is a vital next step in efforts to democratize access to space."
