Smart cars can reduce traffic congestion, and more importantly, prevent fatal accidents. At the same time, however, more connectivity and internet-enabled services open further attack vectors in modern vehicles. So, while the integration of connected systems with vehicle controls has fundamentally changed the notion of vehicle safety and security, car OEMs and Tier 1 firms are still catching up with the relentless pace of innovations in the connected car realm.
