BREA, CA – Curtiss-Wright Corporation has announced the expansion of its digital control systems portfolio with the addition of the Curtiss-Wright Digital Safety System. Built on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)-approved RadICS platform, the Digital Safety System is fully-qualified for nuclear safety-related applications.
Curtiss-Wright's Digital Safety System is an internally diverse, fully-qualified field programmable gate array (FPGA)-based system that is robust, flexible, and scalable. It features state-of-the-art functions, safeguards, and diagnostics that eliminate manual surveillance processes and streamline maintenance activities. Online, real-time system diagnostics significantly reduce manual testing activities and increase the efficiency of plant operations. Curtiss-Wright's Idaho Falls facility will conduct system design, implementation, testing, and long-term customer support for the Digital Safety System under its long-standing 10CFR50 Appendix B program.
