Flash-to-cloud security solution provider NanoLock Security announced that it is joining forces with Mekorot, Israel’s national water company, to develop cybersecurity solutions for water and energy utilities in Israel and around the world.
Inspired by the growing threat of cybersecurity strikes against water and power infrastructure, which is a prime target due to the role it plays in many societies, NanoLock developed a security solution that is not specific to processor and operating system and does not require, making it suitable for smart water and gas meters. This solution developed especially for IoT connected devices utilizes hardware that blocks unauthorized code modifications and is trained to move data from the compromised source to a trusty source in the data center, while protecting the devices with consistency resistance programming.
Mekorot says it is prioritizing partnerships and the conservation of global utility resources. “We are developing partnerships with companies like NanoLock to enable innovation in the delivery of the world’s water. Essential to that mission is that utilities are protected from nefarious cyber threat and cities are safe from the consequences of attack,” said David Balsar, GM of Mekorot Innovation and Ventures. “NanoLock’s solution to secure IoT devices from within the flash memory is a technical innovation that we believe will help protect Israel’s national water, as well as those utility ecosystem partnerships we have made across the globe”
